An educator par excellence, Deepti has worked with schools in India and the United Kingdom. She completed her Certificate of Educational Studies from The College of Teachers, Institute of Education, London, UK and has trained in Teaching Languages through Technology from Trinity College, UK with a Distinction Grade in her ICT project from Consultant-E, Spain.
Deepti has been a teacher educator for Technology Integration for the last 20 years. She was the Leader for ICT at the British School for six years. Just before she founded Mahattattva, she served as the Leader of ICT at Learn Today, the Learning Division of the India Today Group, where she was responsible for providing consultations to schools on technology integration. She spearheaded technology initiatives in all the projects that Learn Today undertook and also conducted teacher development programmes in technology integration (in India and Bhutan). She also wrote the technology curriculum for The Royal Academy, Bhutan.
Deepti has been recognised across the globe, winning the Microsoft Innovative Teachers’ Leadership Award, at Seoul in 2005. Her project “Design Thinking for Social Change” has been made into a case-study by the University of Pennsylvania, USA. In March 2019, she was awarded the prestigious BETT Asia Leadership Award at Kuala Lumpur for her contribution towards technology integration in K12 classrooms across India.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Technology and as the CEO of Mahattattva works closely with Google India on NCERT and CBSE projects for teacher training.
Vidur is a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi. He also holds Post Graduate Degrees in International Relations and International Development from the University of London. He leads a team of educators and academics at Mahattattva as the Managing Director. Before taking up this role, he has been associated with some of the largest professional consultancies in the world, such as Deloitte and KPMG.
He has worked with several Fortune 500 companies during his stint in the corporate world. Vidur has also spearheaded multi-crore pursuits for his employers, helping expand their footprint in India. His core expertise is in research, analytics, client acquisition, client relationship management and marketing. He strives to incorporate global best practices in consulting at Mahattattva.
Usha has been passionately involved in various aspects of education for over 30 years. She is committed to professional ethics; maintaining exacting standards of educational practices; and the pastoral care and education of young children. Her experience in theatre and as a debater, her love for music and her vivacious personality, combined with her domain expertise, revolutionized her classrooms. This was recognized when she received the ‘Excellence in Teaching’ Award by Career Launcher.
After retiring as a Teacher, Usha worked as a Consultant with Learn Today, the Learning Division of the India Today Group, where she performed academic audits and helped set up several new schools. She has conducted professional development programs with some of the best schools in the country. Her diverse experience and strong track record in fostering child-centered curriculum and student creativity adds lustre to her luminous career.
Paromita Banerjee is a creative and talented educationist with more than 20 years of experience in teaching Science and Mathematics. A Science Graduate from Sambalpur University, she has also completed the Teacher Fellowship Programme in collaborative methods of teaching and learning of science offered by the Regional Resource Centre for Elementary Education (RRCEE), Delhi University. She is also a recipient of ‘ Teacher as an Innovator’ Diploma awarded by OEP Finland.
Paromita has taught Math and Science at various schools across grades 3 to 8. Her last and longest stint in teaching was at Vasant Valley School, New Delhi. She believes in collaborative learning with hands-on experiences. She believes that students should be guided to discovery and analytical thinking and competently integrates technology to achieve this.
She is a certified Google Level 1 Educator and has worked extensively to train Delhi Government school teachers as part of Mahattattva’s work with IL&FS Education and Google India.
Sonali has over two decades of experience in the field of education. A postgraduate from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, she completed her teachers’ training from Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She is also a recipient of ‘ Teacher as an Innovator’ Diploma awarded by OEP Finland. Being an Army officer’s wife, she has widely traversed the length and breadth of the country taking up teaching assignments. She has experienced working in a multitude of schools ranging from Army, Navy, Convents and Sadhbhawana Schools. She was the Principal of the Army Preschool, Ahmedabad which challenged her to manage both academics as well as administration. Her last teaching assignment was with Vasant Valley School, New Delhi.
At Mahattattva, Sonali has helped curate and develop the curriculum for early years and is also directly involved in the implementation of developed content and techniques.
An award-winning ex-principal , Ashima Jairath is a B.Sc. (Hons) graduate from Delhi University specializing in Child Development and Psychology. She is an experienced educational facilitator, curriculum developer, content creator and teacher trainer, with over twenty years of experience in prestigious academic institutions such as Vasant Valley School, Delhi Public School and GD Goenka School.
Her forte lies in providing guidance and leadership to staff through grooming, training and mentoring to building powerful teams. She works towards making students and teachers “future-ready” to face challenges that the real-world poses through student-centred and experiential learning interventions.
Ashima has designed and implemented innovative age-appropriate educational content for several leading educational companies and publishers across India.
Kajal Kapur is a graduate in Commerce from Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar). She has over 20 years of rich experience in the areas of communications, training & development, operation process management, customer relationship management and sales team management.
She has worked in Operations, Training & Development, Communications, and Assessment profiles in various companies including GECIS, Perfexa Solutions, Bharti Infotrack, ICICI Bank and GMR Airports Limited before joining Pathways School, Gurgaon as an educator. She possesses excellent interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills with a proven track record of utilizing a process-oriented approach towards the accomplishment of organizational objectives.
An IIM (L) and SRCC alumnus, Mr Sood has a stellar career of over 26 years in the Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) space. He has worked extensively on Pan India portfolios across Banking, Consumer Finance and Insurance. He has also been involved with setting up and running operations in Asia Pacific.
He has been associated with international giants such as ANZ Grindlays Bank, GE Capital, Bank of America and DHFL Pramerica. He presently serves as COO at Shubham Housing Finance.
Mr Sood is a key investor at Mahattattva, and as the Chairman of the Advisory Board, he empowers the company with a wealth of experience that he has gained in his many years in the corporate sector.
Professor Knowles started his professional career training to teach 3D design at Southfields College, London. After entering into industry, he worked with many leading London designers before setting up his first studio, Mike Knowles and Associates in London in the mid eighties. A Ruskinite he is a passionate believer in the societal value of design and craft skills.
Professor Knowles moved to India to develop job creation and export projects and helped establish the In Group. In 2003, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and up until recently headed the India Fellowship. In 2008, he established a Skills Academy for the University of the Arts, London in New Delhi and was conferred a Visiting Professor UAL in 2009. In 2010, he was given the responsibility of developing the Sushant School of Design where he was Dean for 5 years, growing the school from a handful of students to one of India’s leading Design Schools. He now serves as the Professor Emeritus at the School of Creativity, Rishihood University.
Lokesh leads and manages strategic relationships with OEM’s, institutional bodies and implements skill development and certification initiatives in collaboration with Academia, Enterprises and Public Sector. He has had stints with leading organizations like Oracle, Symantec, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel and NIIT. By profession an Electronics Engineering graduate and an MBA, Lokesh has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry covering Sales, Channel Development, CSR, Education, Training, Marketing and Product Management. Lokesh has spoken at several public forums hosted by ASSOCHAM, CII, EDGE, ELETS, FICCI, Indian Education Congress, NASSCOM, PHD, International Telecom Union (ITU), UNDP, etc. and besides editing 2 books has also authored several articles published in leading newspapers and magazines.
Shivani has her training and experience in Guidance and Counselling. She has a Masters in Social Work and has designed mental health models and inclusive setups for various schools. Having worked at the Sanskriti School and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, she brings with her over 30 years of experience in the field of education. Her expertise lies in Early Years, teacher empowerment, curriculum development and modifications. She has helped set up many schools, play schools as well as K-12 schools. She has also been on faculty of Delhi University as well as the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development teaching the B.El.Ed course as well as the Special Education course.
Blanca has been conducting teacher training workshops and courses in Math, Communication and Technology for Educational Purposes, Writing and Communicating About Math, and Women and Science; in her native Mexico as well as other countries, virtually or in person. She has done her PhD titled Didactics of Mathematics from University Paris-Diderot, France. She has been certified as a Problem Based Learning-Advanced Author/Designer by Maastricht University, Netherlands, by the Wheeling Jesuit University at USA, and by the Monterrey Technologic Institute (ITESM) at Mexico.
Yvonne Harrison is qualified as a Primary Teacher with a Masters Degree in Science Education (ICT applied in the classroom) and a Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education. Before becoming an administrator, Yvonne was a Level 3 Classroom Teacher (2001), Microsoft Innovative Educator (2005), and Getting It Right Literacy Specialist teacher (2005). Her current role has a specific focus on Digital Technologies, Gifted and Talented Students, and Early Childhood Development. She has been teaching for well over 30 years and often uses ICT as a vehicle for student learning projects across the curriculum. Yvonne is currently working alongside staff members at her school, and in conjunction with staff from neighbouring schools in the catchment cluster, to assist in the implementation of robotics and coding lessons to aid in the 2018 moderation and reporting of Digital Technologies in the primary school. She has presented at ECAWA State Conferences from 2001, Department of Education Innovation and ICT Seminars, Microsoft Roadshow, TeachMeets and now a STEM Conference incorporating the professional STEM associations of Western Australia. Her volunteer work includes running an after school Computer Club using a multiplayer Minecraft Server and an after school CoderDojo wherein students are able to follow their own passions in game making, animation creation, coding and simple VR development.
A Teacher of mathematics for the past twenty-seven years, Sangeeta has been teaching students in grade 11 and 12. She has been actively involved in exploring the use of technology in teaching and learning of Mathematics. She strongly believes that with the use of technology, she has been able to create meaningful learning opportunities for her students. Recipient of the National Award for using ICT for Innovation in Teaching and a Google Education Certified Innovator, Sangeeta was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching in 2011. Sangeeta has contributed to several professional development and technology orientation programmes all over India. A e-source person with NCERT in developing ICT curriculum and e-content, she has developed video lessons for class XI & XII with Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT. She conducts workshops on GeoGebra, Desmos, Google Apps and Online Resources.
Mitsu has been in the teaching profession for over twenty five years. She graduated with an honours degree from Miranda House College in 1982 and completed her teachers’ training from Department of Education, Delhi University the following year. She gained her Master’s degree from Agra University in 1998. She began her teaching career at Laxman Public School, Delhi when it was still a budding institution. A transfer to Jodhpur led her to St Anne’s School where the pedagogy was classical but was juxtaposed with the freedom to experiment. Army School Agra was the next challenge as the learners were first generation, straight out of their villages. Next came Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, which follows a child centric pedagogy with ABL and PBL. Her experience with ICSC came at Greenlawns School, Mumbai.
The move back to Delhi in 2015 led to a shift in her career from school teaching to teacher support. With Learning Links Foundation, she designed curriculum and content to support their efforts with government schools across the country. For a short period, she headed their intervention with a MCD school at Delhi. She then joined Learn Today where she supported schools through direct intervention as well as teacher training workshops.
